West Runton is a small coastal village on the coast road between Sheringham and Cromer. In summer it is a bustling place enlivened with many tourists staying in the many caravan parks, guest houses and hotels in the village. There are a number of shops, cafes and restaurants in the village and a lively Inn. In Winter West Runton is transformed into a peaceful oasis. Holy Trinity church sits close to the main road in the centre of the village. Worship at Holy Trinity is in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England. On the first Sunday of the month there is a Said Eucharist at 8.30am (in traditional language). Our main service each Sunday is at 11am, either a Sung or Solemn Eucharist. There is a Solemn Eucharist with incense on the third and fifth Sundays of the month and on all major festivals. On festivals the mass is preceded by a procession. When the Eucharist is solemn we sing it to Martin Shaw's Anglican Folk Mass, on other Sundays we use the Mass of St Thomas by David Thorne. In the week there is a mass every day at 9am, unless otherwise advertised here. Evensong and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament is gon the fourth Sunday of the month at 6pm. From November-February these services are at 3pm. The parish of Runton is not aligned to either Affirming Catholicism or Forward in Faith, but it has passed Resolution B under the Ordination of Women measure. This allows people with widely differing theological outlooks to worship together and to still feel valued. Holy Trinity benefits from having its own Church Hall a few hundred yards away in the village, allowing for a full social life. We have a fine organ and on Wednesday lunchtimes during the summer months, there is a series of popular organ recitals by well known local organists. The Parish has a successful evening Mothers' Union, which meets monthly on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm at the daughter church of St Andrew in East Runton. The parish also has an active cell of the Society of Our Lady of Walsingham, with a program of monthly meetings in church. There is also a long-established Mens' Society. Please do visit us, you will find the church open during daylight hours.
